INTERNATIONAL TRADE CENTRE STRATEGY 2020-2025
The International Trade Centre’s (ITC) strategic action plan for 2020-2025 aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries to participate in international trade, with a focus on three strategic priorities:
- Strengthening SME competitiveness: The ITC will support SMEs to improve their competitiveness by providing targeted training, mentoring and advisory services. It will also work with governments and private sector stakeholders to improve the business environment for SMEs.
- Connecting to global markets: The ITC will help SMEs to access new markets by providing them with information, market intelligence and networking opportunities. It will also work to facilitate trade transactions and provide support for e-commerce.
- Building a more inclusive and sustainable trading system: The ITC will promote the integration of SMEs and women entrepreneurs in global value chains. It will also support sustainable and inclusive trade policies and advocate for the use of trade as a tool for development.
To achieve these strategic priorities, the ITC will work closely with its partners and stakeholders, including governments, private sector organizations, international organizations and civil society. It will also leverage technology and innovation to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its interventions.
