As the countdown for the 5th All Africa IP Summit continues, the organizers of the premier African IP event, the International Trade and Research Centre (ITRC), are collaborating with Africa in Colors, as a local organizing partner for the event.

Africa in Colors, a Rwandan agency focused on empowering Africa’s creative industries, is the local partner for the upcoming 5th All Africa IP Summit, scheduled for November 28-30 at Kigali Serena Hotel, Rwanda. Themed “Intellectual Property Rights: A Catalyst for Sustainable Development Goals in Africa,” the event aims to strengthen Africa’s innovation ecosystem. This partnership, born from discussions at the Biashara Afrika Business Forum between Summit Chairman Sand Mba-Kalu and Africa in Colors’ Founder Raoul Rugamba, highlights a mutual commitment to leveraging strong IP frameworks for innovation, economic growth, and the protection of local knowledge.

A press release from the Summit’s Secretariat emphasized the summit’s mission to empower African innovators and businesses, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue on IP’s role in sustainable development. The partnership between All Africa IP Summit and Africa in Colors aims to create an inclusive summit, bringing together innovators, thought leaders, and policymakers.

Prominent global and regional stakeholders, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), AfCFTA Secretariat, EASTECO, and the Nigeria AfCFTA Coordination Office, have shown interest in participating, underscoring the event’s importance for Africa’s IP and trade ecosystem.
